 In June 2010, after overcoming numerous difficulties, the asteroid probe HAYABUSA returned to earth with samples of dust from Itokawa, an asteroid in the solar system. Planetary scientist Tomoki Nakamura received worldwide attention when he opened Hayabusa's capsule to collect and analyze the dust samples.
